The Romans Road
1. Romans 3:23 - The Problem:
"For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard."
Everyone - every single person on earth - is a sinner when measured against the
standard of a holy God.
2. Romans 4:4-5 - The Predicament:
"When people work, their wages are not a gift, but something they have earned. But people are counted as righteous, not because of their work, but because of their faith in God who forgives sinners."
There is nothing a person can do to earn or merit forgiveness and a right standing
before a holy God.
3. Romans 5:12 - The Penalty
"When Adam sinned, sin entered the world. Adam’s sin brought death, so death spread to everyone, for everyone sinned."
Sin demands a penalty, and that penalty is physical death (where the soul is
separated from the body) and spiritual death (where the soul is eternally
separated from God).
4. Romans 5:8 - The Provision
"But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners."
God loves us so much that He provided Jesus Christ, His Son, to take our place
on the cross and pay the penalty for our sins.
5. Romans 6:23 - The Pardon
"For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord."
God, in grace, is freely giving eternal life to every person who receives forgiveness
for their sins through Jesus Christ.
6. Romans 10:9-10 - The Process
"If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved."
People must turn to the risen Lord Jesus Christ in faith, trusting Him alone, apart
from any human merit to deliver them from their sins and bring them into a
relationship with God.
7: Romans 6:22 - The Promise
"But now you are free from the power of sin and have become slaves of God. Now you do those things that lead to holiness and result in eternal life."
Trust Jesus to free you from the habit of sinning and to give you a new life that goes on forever. It's a decision you'll never regret!
